CDPAS Open Interviews

Offering a neutral meeting place for people looking for jobs as Personal Care Providers to meet with Consumer Supervisors who are interested in hiring people interested in providing personal care.

Consumer Directed Personal Assistant Services:
CDPAS allows individuals with disabilities requiring personal care the opportunity to Supervise their own personal care services. The Consumer Supervisor assumes all of the responsibilities associated with employing their Attendants and uses CDR for processing payroll for their Attendants, and billing Medicaid for the personal care services their Attendants have provided.

For Individuals Who Want to Become Attendants:
Attendants are not required to have prior training or experience to apply for a position with any Supervisor. Attendants cannot have any physical restrictions limiting their ability to work. Some possible responsibilities may include bathing, dressing, cooking, cleaning, feeding, medication management, etc. Benefits include earning Vacation & Sick Pay, 401k, and Supervisors often offer very flexible schedules.

For Supervisors:
Supervisors or Designated Representatives are responsible for recruiting, interviewing, screening, hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining, and potentially terminating their Attendants.

About Center for Disability Rights:
Center for Disability Rights, CDR, does not “hire” the attendants for the Consumer Supervisors. CDR is simply the Fiscal Intermediary provider the Consumer Supervisor uses for their CDPAS program. By accepting employment in the CDPAS program, all Attendants are reminded that they are employed by their Consumer Supervisor, but paid through CDR.
