2024 Accessible Trunk-or-Treat
On Friday, October 25th from 5:00 to 7:00pm, the Center for Disability Rights (CDR) will host an “Accessible Trunk-or Treat” Halloween event at Innovative Field. In addition, there will be a Low Sensory experience from 4:30-5pm, early admission is available to children in a low sensory environment. Our event is scent-free and non-smoking, and adult supervision is required; costumes are strongly encouraged! Free for all!
Register here. Registration closes on October 19th.
Please park across the street (Morrie Silver Way) from Innovative Field (Red Wings fans will know this as Lot D). You may enter from Morrie Silver Way, Brown Street, or Oak Street. The closest RTS lines are 20/22, on State Street. This site is also accessible by RTS Access (paratransit).
Please click here if you have any questions regarding the event.
In this environment, children with and without disabilities can come together and enjoy the best part of Halloween. True to CDR’s mission to work for the independence, integration, and civil rights of people with all types of disabilities, children with disabilities will continue to have an alternative to going door-to-door to trick-or-treat. For many children, this is a challenge, if it is an option at all.
Please check this webpage should circumstances such as weather conditions or the coronavirus pandemic were to affect the event.
