CDRNYS

Are you or someone you love ten or under? Please join us! We invite everyone ten and under to celebrate Halloween on October 30th. Come collect candy, play games, win prizes, dress in costume, and enjoy some fun surprises!

The childhood joy of trick-or-treating is often taken for granted by people without disabilities. Environmental barriers such as stairs, triggers such as strobe lights and scents, and the nighttime skies mean that many kids with disabilities do not get the chance to collect candy, dress in costume, or go to Halloween parties. For many years, CDR has held this event for the youngest members of the Greater Rochester community, in the spirit of its mission of “integration, independence, civil rights.”

Gregg Beratan, the Director of Development, states, “We cherish this opportunity to give back to our community every year, where disabled children can receive a Halloween experience who otherwise might not have one, and come together with both disabled and non-disabled peers.”

CDR is grateful to Walmart Store 1610, located in Greece, NY, for their award of a Community Grant toward this year’s Accessible Trick or Treat event. We greatly appreciate Wal-Mart’s support of the organization, and thank them for the contribution.
