Surveys Indicate Consumers served by CDR’s program are very satisfied
Over 97% of respondents say they would recommend CDR to others

Rochester, NY – The Center for Disability Rights today released the data gathered from the exit surveys of z`nearly 200 consumers who have left CDR’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) since August 1, 2010. That date marked the beginning of transitions forced by Monroe County. The data shows an overwhelming level of satisfaction with services from CDR.

It is the standard practice of CDR’s Quality Assurance department to perform an exit survey with any individual choosing to end their services with CDR. Survey participants are asked to respond on a 1 – 5 scale, with 5 as “strongly agree,” 4 as “agree,” 3 as “neutral,” 2 as “disagree,” and 1 as “strongly disagree.” Participants were asked a series of questions regarding their satisfaction with services provided by CDR.

Of the respondents, 40% indicated that they strongly agree that they were happy with the CDPAP services provided by CDR. Another 57% indicated that the agreed that they were happy with those services. Less than 3% of the participants indicated that they were anything less than happy with their services.

Of the 197 consumers who changed CDPAP vendors before Friday, October 29, 2010, survey responses were received from 113 of the consumers. This represents a response rate of 57%

Among the quotes which participants shared with the surveyor were the following:
Consumer 1: “This is a tremendous loss for my family now that we have to leave. This caused upheaval in my family and distrust of county government.”
Consumer 2: “I’m praying that CDR gets their contract back.”
Consumer 3: “CDR always kept me in the loop. Not like my new vendor.”
Consumer 4: “Everything was wonderful.”
Consumer 5: “I thank CDR for being there for us.”

CDR continues to provide CDPAP services to nearly 100 consumers in Monroe County. CDR provides CDPAP in 12 additional counties and has modest growth with no downturn in the services provided in those counties. Consumers in these counties report a similarly overwhelming level of satisfaction with CDR’s services.
