CDRNYS

Rochester, NY—May 1, 2010—RochesterWorks! has selected The Center for Disability Rights, Inc as Employer of the Month for May.

To be named an Employer of the Month a company must be growing and increasing the skills of the local workforce.

The Center for Disability Rights, Inc. (CDR) is a not-for-profit, community-based advocacy and service organization for people with all types of disabilities. Incorporated as an all volunteer organization in 1990, CDR began providing services and grew throughout the 1990s. CDR became an independent organization on September 1, 1998.

Since becoming independent, CDR has grown from a small storefront office and total agency budget of just over $200,000 to a strong and influential organization with an annual budget of approximately 30 million with headquarters in Rochester and satellite offices in Geneva and Corning, New York, and a policy office in Albany.

CDR was chosen based on the company’s dedication and commitment to the current and future workforce. CDR has shown dedication to the future workforce by posting positions with RochesterWorks! and representatives from CDR participated in Recruiting Round Rochester events, the First Annual Career Conference and will be participating in the Regional Career Conference where they provided information about careers at CDR.

CDR has current openings for Manager of Outreach and Clinical Services, SSP Coordinator for Deaf Blind Services, Deaf Communications Specialist and Bi-Lingual NHTD/TBI Service Coordinator.
