A group of protesters marched outside RGRTA headquarters on East Main Street in Rochester on Friday. They’re angry at the bus company over alleged mistreatment of people with disabilities.

Protesters say they are having a number of problems with the buses, from problems with bus ramps and lifts, to not being picked up at all. They claim RGRTA is in violation of the Civil Disabilities Act.

“We don’t like to be out here protesting, this is not what we want to do. We have no other option no other choice but to go out here and protest,” said Anita Cameron.

Protesters also say they are denied Lift Line services even when calling up to three days in advance.

RGRTA responded in a statement which said it provides rides for 180,000 riders annually. A survey of Life Line customers found 97% were satisfied with its service.
