Judge Dismisses CDR’s Lawsuit Against County

There is an end to the arguing between the Center for Disability Rights and Monroe County, and it came by court order.

The dispute over home health care provided by CDR and the county led to protests outside the County Office Building and a lot of name-calling.

The county said it was reacting to patient concerns over the quality of care, and terminated its provider relationship with CDR.

In the ruling, State Supreme Court Judge John Ark refused to reverse the county action, but made both sides live by a clause in the contract to provide 60 days notice of cancellation.

Those getting care through CDR have until November to select a new provider through the county.
