City Council held another public meeting to discuss the plans for a downtown bus center. Community members had a chance to voice their concerns on the proposed RGRTA bus terminal on Wednesday night.
Anita Cameron, an area resident, said, “Not everyone supports this and the community needs to be heard. Perhaps if enough of us who don’t support it come out and speak and give our ideas, they might modify it.”
Last week, plans were unveiled for a 73,000 square foot facility on Mortimer Street. Mark IV Construction presented an alternate site for a new bus station. It is in the area of Franklin Street, Pleasant Street and Liberty Pole Way. That location is further away from where people live.
