This week, we’re proud to shine our Employee Spotlight on Michelle Williams-Albert, a remarkable team member whose journey is a testament to perseverance, passion, and purpose.
Michelle was born and raised in Louisiana, where Southern hospitality, soul food, and LSU pride run deep. A die-hard LSU fan and true Southern spirit, she brings energy, warmth, and a love of community wherever she goes. In addition to being a sports enthusiast, Michelle has a deep passion for fitness, bodybuilding, and outdoor adventures. She also enjoys sewing quilts, appreciating art and history, and exploring the natural beauty around her passions that keep her grounded, creative, and inspired.
Michelle describes her personal and professional journey as unexpected; a path that chose her rather than the other way around. What began as a road of uncertainty has unfolded into a powerful story of growth, purpose, and self-discovery.
“It’s not just about reaching goals,” she says, “it’s about the journey itself, you learn through the lessons, relationships, and challenges that shape who we are.”
One of the most significant challenges Michelle has faced is navigating life as a Deaf woman in a predominantly hearing world. From fighting for accessible communication to advocating for equal education and civil rights, Michelle has never let obstacles define her. “I deserve the same opportunities as anyone else,” she says. “I’m not ‘less than’ because I’m Deaf. I’m whole, and I stand strong in who I am.”
Her strength and determination are evident in everything she does. One of her proudest accomplishments was returning to school after 15 years. As a single mother, Michelle balanced parenting, work, and education and that ultimately turned into earning two college degrees in Liberal Arts and Fine Arts within just three years. It’s a milestone she reflects on with pride and gratitude: “Walking across that stage reminded me that anything is possible when you stay focused and believe in yourself.”
When asked what advice she’d give to others, Michelle emphasizes authenticity and resilience. “Be adventurous and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Life doesn’t have to be perfect; it has to be real. Trust your journey, even when the path isn’t clear.”
Michelle’s personal wellness practices are a big part of her success. She prioritizes self-care through fitness, time outdoors, and creative expression. “You live in your body 24/7,” she shares. “Taking care of your mind, body, and spirit is essential — not a luxury.”
Behind Michelle’s strength is a strong network of support. She credits her mother, her family, and her husband, Tim, as some of her biggest inspirations. From her mom’s fierce advocacy to her siblings learning sign language, and Tim’s constant encouragement since high school, Michelle’s journey has been filled with love, understanding, and unity.
