Rochester, NY – Even before Governor David Paterson had announced his proposed budget cuts Wednesday morning, groups that advocate for what they call vulnerable populations were asking for relief.

Politicians aren't the only ones who are busy during election season. Workers at the Monroe County Board of Elections, the people who plan for and oversee elections here, started preparing about a year ago.

A proposal to cut bus fares to their lowest since 1991 will shortchange disabled passengers, advocates said Thursday evening during a public hearing on the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority's imminent fare changes.
