ACTION ALERT: LIFT LINE FARE HEARING

DON’T BE FOOLED: THE PROPOSED FARE REDUCTIONS ARE NOT FAIR!

DON’T LET RGRTA’S LAST MINUTE HEARING NOTICE
SILENCE YOUR VOICE!

Did you even get your snail mail letter in time to make
arrangements to speak up for your transportation rights?

Give RGRTA a piece of your mind about their exploitation of people with disabilities!

THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2008
6:00 P.M.
ROCHESTER RIVERSIDE CONVENTION CENTER
123 East Main Street
Rochester, NY 14604

  • While RGRTA is rolling RTS costs back to 1991, Lift Line users are being required to pay more than they were in 2005!
  • If “fare is fair”, Lift Line users should be able to pay the 1991 Lift Line rate – $1.50 – for any one way trip!
  • The proposed fare cuts are THE LEAST that RGRTA can do under federal law, which requires Lift Line fares to be no more than twice the fixed route bus fares that are also being reduced.
  • Fares for people traveling less than 3 miles will not be reduced.
  • While RGRTA is proud that RTS riders have one flat fare, Lift Line riders still will have EIGHT possible different fares!
  • Fares in the “premium service zone” are still $8 over the base fare!
  • The $19 MILLION surplus is not being used to restore fixed route or Lift Line services to areas previously cut!

If you would like to send written testimony, it must be received by RGRTA by noon on Monday, August 4, 2008, at

Lift Line Customer Service
Attn: Lift Line 2008 Fare Reduction
