#GivingTuesday is here!
The Center for Disability Rights is proud to once again be a part of #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving.
Your Support for the Center for Disability Rights (CDR) has never been more important. In the midst of the current pandemic CDR has led the way on national, state and local levels, to ensure that people with disabilities have access to the safety of the community rather than being stuck and isolated in dangerous congregate care settings.
Over the course of the year, including the height of the pandemic our work has helped more than 152 people transition out of, or avoid going into nursing facilities. Our staff have made more than 16,000 wellness calls to our consumers across the state to ensure they were keeping safe and had vital supplies. We made and distributed more than 2500 masks during the period when PPE was scarcest. We also helped lead the fight to save the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program from dangerous state cuts. On national level we continue to work to pass the Disability Integration Act to mitigate the toll of future pandemics on the Disability Community.
