CDRNYS

The Center for Disability Rights Supplemental Needs pooled trust will continue to operate as normal throughout the Coronavirus crisis. We understand the uncertainty and concerns people have as they navigate this crisis. For this reason, we have taken steps to ensure that the pooled trust continues to function.

We have received a number of questions about whether or not people should continue to deposit into the trust or hold onto their money themselves. We urge you to continue making your regular deposits into the trust. First and foremost because not doing so could put your Medicaid coverage at risk. We would remind people that CDR’s Supplemental Needs Pooled Trust provides individuals with disabilities with an alternative to the traditional “spend down” to qualify for Medicaid. Through this program, Trust members send their surplus income to CDR’s Trust and CDR pays for bills that benefit the Trust consumer.

This crisis is scary but the pooled trust is one of the tools that can best help people weather it. If you have particular questions about your trust and please feel free to contact us by calling: (585) 546-7560 or emailing PooledTrust@cdrnys.org
